KILL JAMIE is a weekly live comedy variety show hosted by local luminary Jamie Kifonidis. The show, obviously based on the hugely popular KILL TONY podcast, features an unconventional open-mic format that combines amateur stand-up comedy with interviews and roasts with a chance to win $1,000!
The Format:
Each show, performed live from the newly opened Squeek & Co Bar & Social at The Salisbury Center in Manassas, VA, is built around a few core components:
- The Bucket of Destiny. Audience members who want to perform put their name into a “Bucket of Destiny”. Jamie randomly draws names from the bucket throughout the show.
- One-to-Two minute sets. Each aspiring comedian whose name is selected performs a 60-120 second stand-up set. A sound effect signals when their time is up.
- Critique and interviews. After the brief set, Jamie and a panel of local special guests conduct an interview with the performer. They offer praise, constructive criticism, and unfiltered roasts.
- Celebrity guests. You never know who might stop by but no promises.
- Grand Prize $1,000. The shows will be weekly every Thursday in October. Select winners from each week will be invited to compete at the finals in early November. The winner will be named that night and will receive the $1,000 grand prize.
